Cheryl Hicks is a senior advisor to the United Nations Global Compact’s CEO Water Mandate on water, sanitation and hygiene (https://ceowatermandate.org/); a founding partner and chair of the board at ASE-INFRA Partners, investing in sanitation economy infrastructure; and board member and chair of the impact committee at Quadia Impact Finance. From 2015-2020 Cheryl has been the inaugural Executive Director and CEO of the Toilet Board Coalition (TBC), a business-led coalition supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the sanitation sector. While at the TBC, Cheryl initiated the Toilet Business Accelerator Programme and established the vision and innovation pathways of the Sanitation Economy.
Senior Advisor on Infrastructure and Water Management at Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington DC
Saskia Pardaans is Senior Advisor on Infrastructure and Water Management at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington DC, representing the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management in the USA. Her focus is on the topics of water management and climate adaptation. The aim of this work is: protection and sustainability: flood risk reduction, coastal and flood zone restoration, ecosystem resilience, urban adaptation and urban water management, and landscape design for risk reduction of public utilities. Before her posting at the Embassy , Saskia Pardaans has served as the Chief Representative for the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Houston, Texas. The NBSO aims to promote the Netherlands and its companies in Texas and Texas in the Netherlands. One of the most important sectors in Texas is water, in the broadest sense of the word. Saskia Pardaans has a background in sales, marketing, communications and international affairs. Previously, she worked as interim manager to lay the groundwork for several organizations for commercial and customer-oriented thinking. Prior to her assignment with the NBSO and her move to the United States, Saskia was managing director and senior trainer for 12 years at her own training agency. Besides, she also worked as an area manager with the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers, the largest employers’ organization in the Netherlands.
