Stuart Orr
Leader of WWF's Freshwater Practice
Stuart Orr is the Leader of WWF’s Freshwater Practice at World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). He has spent his career devising and testing innovative approaches to freshwater conservation by engaging business and finance, and focussing on emerging themes such as the water-food-energy nexus, economic incentives, bankable financing and water-related risk. He has written numerous scientific papers and publications on issues ranging from corporate water governance to fish protein. He serves on a number of advisory councils and non-profit boards as well as supporting conservation projects in over 40 countries. Stuart holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the School of International Development at the University of East Anglia, UK.
Aalke Lida de Jong

Aalke is working for AquaMinerals, a shared company of the Dutch drinking water companies and a number of Waterboards. AquaMinerals brings the residuals and recovered resources to the market. Aalke is responsible for sustainability and compliance issues like end-of-waste for recovered resources. As such she is involved in the end-of-waste procedures for struvite and cellulose and the lobby on relevant legislation for recovered resources from the water cycle. Before Aalke worked at the (former) Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. She did a master’s in Engineering and Policy Analysis at Delft Technical University.

Jean-Pierre Tabuchi

Jean-Pierre Tabuchi is a hydrogeologist and he spend 25 years at Seine Normandy Water Agency where he worked during a long time on stormwater management. After that he was in charge during 7 years of managing financial support to major water public companies (water supply and sanitation) in Paris region. In 2009 he joined the SIAAP where he is project manager in Territorial Strategy Department in the field of prospective. He’s currently involved in water management evolution in the Greater Paris, energy and sludge management, alternative sanitation, climate change, smart systems. Jean-Pierre is also involved in technical assistance in integrated water resources management in China and Cuba.
Jelle Mens
Project Director
Jelle Mens earned his stripes in marine engineering by heading several branch offices of Van Oord all over the world and managing a variety of large complex dredging projects. He has been working in the industry for over 40 years and gained extensive knowledge of projects containing rock work, construction of shore protections, groynes, breakwaters and dike revetments. As Project Director, Jelle is now managing the reinforcement of the Afsluitdijk on behalf of combination Levvel.
Dean Muruven
Global Policy Lead Freshwater
Dean is currently global policy lead for freshwater at WWF International. He holds a MBA from Maastricht University, a Master in Environmental Science from the University of South Africa and recently joined the University of Cambridge's Master of Social Innovation program. He has worked across the consulting and mining industry in Africa before joining WWF-South Africa to lead their source water protection program. Over the last 4 years Dean has led WWF global policy work on water, engaging with UN agencies and governments across the world.
